SCA Rope Access achieves full Operator Membership with IRATA

Our hugely successful Rope Access service provision has just secured full IRATA Operator Membership as part of the division’s ongoing development strategy, and commitment to the highest standards of safety performance.

SCA’s Rope Access division has completed the necessary probationary period of assessment and can now boast full IRATA status having had all systems, procedures and practices critically evaluated, and has passed with flying colours.

IRATA International is the recognised body for all Rope Access activities, and regulates operatives and companies alike. Qualifications for individuals give technicians the ability to progress through three levels of accreditation, and the certification aims to promote a high standard in safety and work quality.

Both off and onshore, a huge variety of tasks can be undertaken via Rope Access, from maintenance and repair to testing and inspection. IRATA has developed the Rope Access method over the last 25 years to the point where this is now the chosen means of access for the majority of the offshore oil and gas industry projects, not to mention a range of contracts in civil engineering and construction.

SCA are proud to be associated with such a well-respected organisation, and we work closely with other members to make sure our procedures are always aligned with legislation, and at the forefront of health and safety practices, without compromise.
